Goldbeck, one of Europe's leading construction and real estate companies, and Trimble, provider of the BIM software Tekla Structures and numerous other solutions for the construction industry, will work closely together from now on: In the future, Goldbeck will use Tekla Structures as a tool for the model-based design of precast concrete elements. With the signing of a joint framework agreement, the two companies are also launching a strategic partnership.
Goldbeck designs, builds, and operates commercial properties on the basis of system components that are constructed in-house and industrially pre-fabricated in its own plants. Along this value chain, the company has been successively digitizing its processes for more than ten years. For Goldbeck, the introduction of Tekla BIM software is another important step in the systematic implementation of the company-wide BIM strategy: Tekla Structures will be used specifically for the design of precast concrete elements.
"Our goal is to automate rule-based design tasks to a greater extent, for example by automatically deriving the necessary embeds and reinforcement, shop drawings, and machine data from the 3D building models. After intensive testing of different industry solutions, we decided on Trimble’s Tekla software solutions," says Mark Jäckel, Director BIM department at Goldbeck. "Tekla Structures convinced us in particular by enabling us to optimally integrate the software into our company-specific processes by means of our own customizations."
While the cooperation will initially focus primarily on use in precast concrete construction, the two companies are evaluating a continuous expansion of Tekla Structures at Goldbeck in other application areas of production-specific detailed design. The two companies are also launching a close strategic collaboration with the signing of a joint framework agreement.
"Goldbeck is one of the most innovative and forward-looking companies in the German and European construction industry. We are very pleased to start this new chapter in our cooperation and to jointly shape the digitalization of the construction industry," says Jorma Zielinski, Business Area Director at Trimble Solutions Germany. "Close cooperation with our customers is a top priority for us. The feedback and input we receive are extremely important for the further development of our software, as one of the leading BIM software solutions."
